Sizing Guide

Welcome to TOFT's size guide page. Below are some basic guidelines on our yarn weight and tension, as well as TOFT garment sizes used with TOFT Quarterly Magazine clothing.

Ed's Animals

The size of your animal will depend on your tension, so please check this is correct before you start your project. If your tension is incorrect you are likely to make a character that is too large or too small, and use more yarn in the process. You should not be able to see stuffing through your stitches. We recommend trying a standard arm or leg to begin with and measuring it against the following table. We’ve also given you approximate sizes for your finished project.

The tension and hook sizes from the tables above apply to Alexandra's Garden Plants as well.

All measurements are a guideline and will vary from garment dependent on style and fit. Please ensure you check your tension before knitting to enable the best result – you can find more information about this HERE.
