Hand-packed into a luxury gift box, you'll receive two skeins of very special limited edition homegrown pure alpaca yarn, spun in Cornwall. This is a rare chance to get your hands on skeins from less than one tonne of homegrown 100% alpaca yarn from the fleeces of the TOFT herd.This exclusive and very limited batch DK yarn is made from blending together only the finest baby alpaca fleeces to produce three distinct undyed shades, named after some of the alpacas that have grazed the fields here at HQ. We've also added three printed postcard patterns for three different camelid species – you can mix and match your yarn to crochet up to two of these animals, or use this versatile yarn to knit up a hat or scarf for yourself or a friend.
Tully: A son of the famous Patagonian Celtic Triumph, Tully was a game-changing stud alpaca not only for TOFT but also for the national herd. He boasts over 120 offspring across the UK alone, who have picked up the top prizes at shows throughout the country since 2012 and his grandchildren still influence the show ring today. Renowned for excellent confirmation, impressive density and being the colour of luxurious salted caramel.
Aura: One of the finest alpacas we ever individually hand-selected and imported from Australia, she’s the matriarch of the TOFT herd. Mother of 5 cria (and grandmother to 40) including Adele, whose fleece will be within this batch as a thirteen-year-old ultra fine adult alpaca, her fleece remains as fine today as it was as a baby alpaca. Adele (daughter of Tully to Aura) won champion brown huacaya picking up numerous prizes at national shows throughout in 2013- 2015.
