TOFT are very proud to present a 15th Birthday collection, brought together by revisiting and perfecting our most iconic and favourite designs from the last decade and a half. These patterns helped shape TOFT into the company it is today, each one causing a twist and turn on our path to 2021. These patterns follow our journey from the very early ready-to-wear collections through to the first creation of Edward’s Menagerie and to a brand new pattern that celebrates this year and the future.
Albus the Elephant is one of TOFT’s original and much loved supersized ‘Edward’s Menagerie’ giant animal head crochet patterns from 2012, designed by Kerry Lord. A fantastic choice for a beginner, and perfect to adorn any child’s bedroom wall, this crochet pattern is easy to follow and when crocheted in TOFT’s CHUNKY yarn Albus is utterly magnificent.
“Even before I had finished the first dozen original Edward’s Menagerie animals, I had already started to experiment with our chunkier yarns to supersize and reimagine heads to be wall-mounted.Adorning baby Edward’s nursery wall for the first few years of his life was a less-than-perfect first elephant head, and the pattern first appeared in the original #edsanimals .pdf as a bonus pattern. Reworked for 2021 to firmly identify him as an African elephant, it has been a pleasure to revisit this pattern - and I look forward to seeing it come to life on your hooks.”

YOU WILL NEED: To complete one of TOFT’s giant animal head crochet patterns you will need a few added extras, including a 8mm crochet hook, toy stuffing, yarn for facial features and a wool needle. Go to our recommended section below to get direct links to these products.
MEASUREMENTS: When finished Albus will be approximately 70cm from back of head to tip of trunk and 65cm wide from ear to ear.
